Independent student union activists from a number of different Egyptian universities are scheduled to hold a protest stand in front of the general prosecutor's office in downtown Cairo tomorrow (Monday, November 10) at noon.
These student activists are protesting the interior ministry's repression and assault of the "Resistance Movement" in Helwan University. They are also protesting against the interior ministry's intervention in student affairs, elections, and activities.
Furthermore, this protest stand aims at defending students' rights to freedom of expression - and to voicing their objections regarding the increases in university fees/tuition and services.

تدعوكم الحركات الطلابية المستقلة بمختلف الجامعات المصرية، إلي المشاركة في الوقفة الاحتجاجية أمام النائب العام يوم الاثنين الموافق 10 نوفمبر 2008 الساعة الثانية عشر صباحا، للتعبير عن رفضنا لما تعرض له زملاءنا من جامعة حلوان بالاعتداء بالسب والضرب.
تأتي هذه الوقفة في إطار تعبيرنا عن رفض التدخلات الأمنية ومحاولة السيطرة على الأنشطة الطلابية داخل الجامعات، بالإضافة إلي استمرار الأجهزة الأمنية في الاعتداء على كل الطلاب الممارسين لحقهم في التعبير عن آرائهم ومواقفهم من ارتفاع المصاريف الدراسية وسوء الخدمات الجامعية المقدمة لهم، واحتجاجهم على تزوير الانتخابات الطلابية التي تعد المنبر الطبيعي للطلاب.
